ONE OF THESE DAYS JOHN CRUZ - $15
After more than 10 years of anticipation since his top selling first album "Acoustic Soul" was released, in September of 2007, John rolled out number two. Just in case you were wondering, it was well worth the
wait. Winner of the 2008 Hoku Award for Contemporary Album of the Year, "One of These Days" is a finely-crafted work of art, taking John's songwriting, performing and producing abilities to a whole new level.
The CD consists of 11 songs, which like "Acoustic Soul," John produced
himself. The Hawaiian singer-songwriter gathered some industry
heavyweights together to create a musical tapestry woven from bluesy
rock, heartfelt ballads, esoteric folk, a Hawaiian classic and even pop
R & B. Names like Paulinho da Costa, Greg Leisz, Steve Berlin,
James Gadson and Glenn Worf bring legendary credibility to John's
already well-respected music.
Recorded at Jackson Browne's private studio in Los Angeles and
engineered mostly by Mark Johnson, who won a Grammy for his work on
Keb' Mo's "Keep It Simple," the album is infused with warmth, grit and
relevance. When you combine the production value with superb
musicianship and John's signature outstanding vocal capabilities, the
result is the quality of music that stands the test of time.
